As an all-volunteer organization that never charges for search and rescue services, Chesapeake Search Dogs relies on donations to keep our mission going. Each year, our volunteers log thousands of miles on their personal vehicles and spend hundreds of dollars on search gear. They receive no financial stipend to offset those costs. How are donations used?
They allow our organization to:
Provide health insurance for operational canines.
Purchase and provide uniforms for operational members.
Purchase and provide radios to enhance and expedite communication during searches.
Purchase liability insurance.
Provide computers and phone service.
Host our website.
Obtain professional training for handlers, canines, and flankers.
Offset costs of seminars attended by our members.
