Sandy Popp joined Chesapeake Search Dogs in 2019 and became an operational Flanker in 2021. She is working to become an operational K9 handler with her partner, Andy. Sandy holds an Amateur Radio Technician License, a NASAR SARTECH II certification, and a Canine SARTECH III Area Search certification with Andy. Sandy lives in Northern Anne Arundel County with her husband, their daughter Lily and their two dogs Tucker and Andy. She is an attorney and works for the Maryland General Assembly Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee. In her free time, she serves as the PTA President on her daughters school’s PTA, enjoys going to concerts and spending time with her family and friends.

Andy is a black Labrador Retriever and began training with Chesapeake Search Dogs in 2020. Andy achieved the Canine SARTECH III Area Search certification in 2023. When not working, Andy loves playing frisbee in his backyard, and being as close as possible to his human handler, Sandy.
