Jeff & Kali
Jeff Leitch joined Chesapeake Search Dogs in 2009 and became an Operational Flanker in 2010. In 2011 he became an Operational K9 Handler with his partner, Moscow. In 2015 he certified with his second K9 partner, Kali. Jeff holds a NASAR SARTECH II certification, Canine SARTECH III Area Search certifications with both Kali and Moscow, an Amateur Radio Technician license, and is a certified NRP Search Team Member. He and his wife live in York County, Pennsylvania with their daughters and dogs. He works as a scientist for Becton Dickenson in Sparks, Maryland.
Moscow is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever who joined Chesapeake Search Dogs in 2009 at three months old. He became an Operational Air Scent K9 in 2011. Moscow holds a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Certification and a NASAR Canine SARTECH III Area Search certification. His favorite toy is the Kong Wubba. Now retired, Moscow enjoys his morning and afternoon naps in the sun and playing fetch in the yard or nearby lake.
Kali is a Black Labrador Retriever who joined Chesapeake Search Dogs in 2010 when she was 8 weeks old. Kali holds a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Certification and a NASAR Canine SARTECH III Area Search certification. She certified as an Air Scent K9 with her previous handler in 2012 and re-certified with her current handler, Jeff, in 2015. She has been on numerous deployments and specializes in covering large areas in record time. Outside of search and rescue work, Kali enjoys hiking with her buddy Moscow, large bodies of water, and frosty paws.
